Another game jam submission! Escape Velocity is a runner, you’re attempting to outrun a growing black hole. I enjoyed working on this submission as a programmer and level designer. The only thing we did wrong was misinterpret the theme. Apparently solar punk is not a punk space theme, but a technology permaculture theme… c’est la vie.


What went right

  • Team work + playable submission
  • First time implementing a state based pattern in GD script
  • First time designing a platformer-ish level

What went less right

  • Theme misinterpretation
  • Felt like a crunch
